The Jackal 02:57
The Jackal Verse 1 Took the truth for granted Like the sun Night will come The jackal always runs Mmmmmm Verse 2 Scavenging for flesh Beneath the skin For our sins The jackal always wins Mmmmmm Chorus Burn your fingers on the sun Speak the truth for no one The jackal always runs The jackal aways runs Verse 3 Avoiding peoples glances with his eyes not taking sides The jackal always hides Mmmmmm Chorus Reprise Took the truth for granted Like the sun Night will come The jackal always runs

Little Pieces A bed on wheels Not travelling today Light in the frame Tells me someone’s one their way He brings spheres of comfort In a paper cup That marks the start of my Ironic getting up The breakfast arrives Cold and dry And cut in little pieces I focus on the pictures on the wall When the emptying is done Perhaps someone will call Hear their hushed tones Behind the hollow door So much hides in plain sight In the bright lit corridor A plate arrives, something I don’t like Cut in little pieces The life I left behind My living education Never got me ready For this strange incarceration My mind is let down By a body I can’t trust I’ve been here a while Still I can’t adjust The balance of my life Are tasteless and bland Routine in one room Basic needs at my command Dinner tray arrives Unidentified And cut in little pieces Fragments of a life In tiny little pieces

It would be easier to miss you if you’d died CHORUS (Short) It would be easier to miss you If you’d died The way you left me damaged my pride You couldn’t possibly Be happy Without my awesomeness If would be easier to miss you If you’d died V1 In those angry moments When you’re dead to me I daydream what I’d say When I visit your grave And the ghost of you Couldn’t turn me away Stop avoiding places Where we used to meet Not ashamed to say hi It would be ok to cry They would smile at me And look me in the eye It would be easier to miss you If you’d died CHORUS (extended) It would be easier to miss you If you’d died The way you left me damaged my pride You couldn’t possibly be happy Without my awesomeness Wonder if you’re laughing if you miss me too On the other side If would be easier to miss you If you’d died V2 We’re no longer sharing cos I’m dead to you is my courage hard to see when you watch me on the screen only one of us has followed the dream for a while I was hoping you were suffering I remember all the times You helped me amplify So I’m crying out I’m glad you are alive It would be easier to miss you If you’d died CHORUS (extended)
